Liverpool have told Egypt's FA Mohamed Mohamed Salah that he will not join the rest of the team in their next World Cup qualifier against Angola due to solitary confinement restrictions.

Egypt, whose team will face Angola in Cairo on September 2 before playing Gabon in a three-day away trip, is a country currently on the red flags of the UK Government's departure.

However, Sky Sports News understands that Liverpool have told the Egyptian FA that the player will be free to go and play a second qualifier, away from Gabon.

Return to England from 'red list'

The government says those returning to England from a country on their "red" list must be separated for 10 full days in a detached hotel and do a coronavirus test before or before day 2 and day or after 8 days of separation.

Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Turkey and Uruguay are some of the countries on the "red" Government list.

A statement from Egypt's official FA website stated: 

"Egypt Football Association has received a letter from Liverpool FC apologizing for the failure of their player, Mohamed Salah, to join the national team at the next camp, which includes Angola in Cairo and Gabon. African Cup of Nations.

"The team's letter from England referred to precautionary measures taken in England to address the outbreak of HIV / Aids in the world, placing returnees for a ten-day period of healthy return to England.

"In the letter, the England team reiterated its hope that the Egyptian federation would understand that it was forced to do so, when the player was forced to stay alone for the season and physically affected.

"Liverpool FC have reportedly taken the same position as most of its foreign players."

Liverpool also have three players who play for Brazil, another country on the red list, Alison Becker, Fabinho and Roberto Firmino.

Some major European clubs are expected to bar players from joining national teams due to coronavirus safety concerns.
